What each term does and does not tell you
These are frequently treated as interchangeable in supplier materials. They are not.
FDA product registration
Confirms a specific product may be legally manufactured and distributed in the Philippines. It is product-specific and time-limited, so a certificate for a different product, or an expired one, does not establish compliance for what you are buying.
GMP principles
Governs how the product is made: facilities, hygiene, process control, and documentation. Producing under GMP principles is not the same as holding a third-party GMP certificate — if you need the latter, specify it explicitly.
PhilGEPS registration
Establishes supplier eligibility to transact with government. It carries no information about product safety, nutrition, or quality. Treat it as a separate check from product compliance.
Lot coding and traceability
Batch or lot codes with manufacturing and expiry dates are what make a recall possible. Without them there is no way to isolate an affected batch — which matters most when distributing at scale to vulnerable people.
Remaining shelf life
Distinct from total shelf life and frequently omitted from specifications. A 24-month product delivered with four months remaining is compliant on paper and useless for prepositioning.
Nutrition documentation
Declared energy, protein, and micronutrient levels per a defined serving size. Without the serving definition in grams, nutrition figures cannot be compared between suppliers.

Two stages, because compliance confirmed at bid stage is not compliance confirmed on the loading dock.
